Abalone, also known as Paua, is the shell of a sea snail. The thick inner layer of the shell is composed of mother-of-pearl, which in many species is highly iridescent, giving rise to a range of strong, changeable colors, especially blue and green. It is truly a treasure of the ocean. In addition, each abalone shell is unique in pattern and color.
I bezel set the abalone with fine silver. The back plate of copper is stamped with swirls. The strong cuff is made from silver filled wire. This is much thicker than silver plated wire, and will not chip.
Cuff is flexible and and will adjust to most wrist sizes. Let me know if you wrist is smaller than 6 inches or larger than 7 1/2 inches. The copper plate is between 1 1/2" to 1 3/4" in length and 1 1/4" in width. Each piece of abalone is unique and a slightly different size.
