I am excited to share a new ocean inspired piece that incorporates several of the things I love; ocean inspired colors, mandalas, cloisonné enamel and druzy sparkle!
Cloisonné enamel has been an art form since ancient times. Flat wires are placed onto the enamel on end and fired into place. The artist then slowly fills up the different "cells" created by the wire with enamel and repeatedly fires many layers.
I created a mandala pattern with my wires and filled in the cells with various colors of enamel. I also added silver foil circles in many of the cells to add flash. I love the beautiful symmetry of mandala art and being able to translate that into cloisonné enamel.
The white druzy at the center of the design is 8 mm wide, a beautiful, sparkly gem. This is a real druzy, not made of plastic or resin. This druzy is excellent quality and is the perfect center piece for this festive, sparkly pendant. The pendant is 1 1/8" in diameter. It has a substantial feel.
I created a setting from silver filled sheet and fine silver bezel. The pendant comes with a black waxed cotton cord that is 16-18 inches long with a lobster clasp and extension chain. You can also use your own chain or send me a message if you want pricing for a sterling silver chain and lobster clasp.
